Brent crude trading lower at $76.01/bbl

Crude oil prices on Thursday marginally increased Rs8 to Rs6,038 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was down by 0.19 per cent to $71.79 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 0.05 per cent lower at $76.01 per barrel in New York.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for September delivery traded higher Rs8 or 0.13 per cent at Rs6,038 per barrel in 11,751 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
